William

Vilhjálmur Patreksson

I am William Weimer. My parents, Patrick and Victoria Weimer have been dedicated missionaries in Iceland since 1999. My father currently pastors the First Baptist Church of Njarðvík (Fyrsta Baptista Kirkjan). As a child, I served with my parents and learned many of the inner workings of ministry.

After trusting Christ as a teenager, church ministry became a personal conviction. God put in me a desire to serve; and later, He confirmed that desire as a calling upon my life.

Knowing that God had called me into ministry, I studied with Veritas Baptist College (VBC). During my tenure as a student at Veritas, I continued to serve in Iceland at the First Baptist Church of Njarðvík.

Toward the end of my college experience, I interned at Kerwin Baptist Church under Pastor Daniel Hawtree and also worked alongside Pastor Richard Draper of Providence Baptist Church.

In 2023, I was ordained at Kerwin Baptist Church. In 2024, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from VBC with a Bachelor of Ministry and a Bachelor of Christian Education.

Phyllis

My wife, Phyllis, was reared in Germany with her brothers, sister, and loving mother. She did not grow up in a Christian home. However, God, by His grace and direction, guided Phyllis to Iceland. While in Iceland, she began attending the First Baptist Church of Njarðvík.

Under the ministry of Patrick and Victoria Weimer, Phyllis was introduced to the Christian faith. On Easter Sunday 2018, Phyllis accepted the truth of the Gospel and began her relationship with Christ.

Phyllis speaks German, English, Icelandic, and some Russian. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Icelandic from the University of Iceland (Háskóli Íslands). Additionally, she is studying Mandarin on the side.

For the past few years, Phyllis has worked alongside Missionary Victoria Weimer and is gradually being introduced to the inner workings of ministry. She is particularly involved in our church’s bus ministry, where she has gained valuable experience in communicating with parents, organizing bus routes, and coordinating the Sunday program.

The Weimers

Before graduating from Veritas Baptist College, I approached Phyllis and asked if she would consider entering a courtship with me. I was very grateful when she agreed. From the beginning of our relationship, I was transparent about my calling to ministry. Phyllis diligently sought God’s guidance through Scripture to discern if this was also His calling for her. Over time, God revealed His will to her through the Scriptures, affirming her calling to ministry and leading her to marry me.

Following my graduation, I married Phyllis, whose unwavering passion for following Christ continually inspires and challenges me. Together, we are determined to live for Jesus in Iceland.
